This weekend was very eventful for me. Long story short my fiancée said she didn’t have to buy me a fishing pole because she was not my wife, on Friday night. Therefore, I said lets get married. We woke up early Saturday, went, and married the love of my life. It took 2 hours to get to the place we got married and then 6 hours back to find a place to swim. I was supposed to go fishing and the kids were supposed to be able to swim. However, because of the flooding most places were closed. Which lead us to a creek and there was fish there but they would not have done any good. They were not big enough to keep and eat. Therefore, I ended up swimming also. It was a blast. Sunday we did not do a whole lot. It was more of a day of rest. Today however was extremely fun. I took the kids back to the creek and they had a blast. I threw my youngest up and let him splash down into the water. He absolutely loved it; he kept saying “Again, Daddy!” I would hold up one finger and tell him one more and he would hold up all of his and say, “Okay one more”. My older children were jumping off a tree into the water. The first time they did it they had arm floats’ on and then they got braver and did it with out. After a long day at the creek (almost 8 hours), we came home for dinner. The only bad thing about today is I forgot a lot of stuff when I left for the creek, main one being sunscreen. I am burnt and red like a lobster! The creek was fun but the sunburn is not!
Wow! Congratulations!! I have never heard of getting married just to get a fishing pole but I have heard of worse reasons. Hopefully the next time you will remember the sunscreen. I am a burner myself so I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteI had planned on marrying her soon, just didnt know when. The part about the pole just got the conversation going. It just ended up being tha we were going to be in the area the next day that we could just do it :) It was a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteNow that is one eventful weekend and what a great story for the grandkids some day. ~Ms. A.
